Poetry by Sam Kemp

These poems lift lines from various sources, particularly the letters between architect Sir Edwin Lutyens and his wife Lady Emily. Words and phrases are taken from the span of the Lutyens archives held by RIBA, as well as the archives of Cockington village, scattered in over 700 boxes in the South West Heritage Centre. A Metal Window Dictionary is a 1953 book by W.F. Crittall, and the poem merges technical terms and advice with lines from Christopher Hussey’s 1953 biography of Lutyens.
