All the relevant information about how to submit is given below. We particularly request that you comply with the formatting requirements, as it makes your work easier to read and to process.

Deadline for submissions: Midnight on Friday 5 February 2016

What: Short stories, creative non-fiction, or standalone novel extracts

Who: Any Birkbeck Creative Writing student or alumnus (from MA or BA courses) is eligible to submit. Please state your course and year of graduation in your covering email.

Word length: Up to 5,000 words

Format: Word .doc or .docx file; double line spacing; at least 10-point font size; story title, author name and word count on first page; page number, story title and author name in header or footer on every subsequent page. No PDFs or Apple Works, etc. please.

How: Please email your file to MIR.Birkbeck@gmail.com with the subject heading “MIR13 submission”.

The editors’ decision is final. Due to time pressure, no formal feedback can be given if your piece is not selected.

We look forward to reading your submissions!
